A second Angry Birds theme park is set to open in the UK this summer. The hit mobile game will see its second global outpost open in the town of Nottingham at the end of this summer.

Guests will be able to play on themed swings, roundabouts, sandpits, climbing towers, giant dummy catapults and rides themed around the game, with the aim of encouraging young children to get outside and run around.

Earlier this month, the world's first Angry Birds Land opened in the Särkänniemi theme park in Finland, the home country of the app's authors, Rovio.

That park features 12 rides, also aimed at families and young children, including an Angry Birds carousel, the Majakka lighthouse, an adventure course and a rollercoaster, along with several themed food outlets and an official Angry Birds shop.
